EU Mobility

Overview

The University Language Centre supports the internationalisation policy pursued by the university by annually organizing language assessment for EU mobility. Students who have won an Erasmus grant can take a test that assesses their level of language competence. The tests take place every year in April / May (for students leaving in the first semester) and September (for students leaving in the second semester).

In order to assess the four abilities featuring each language level according to the Common European Framework of Languages (CEFR), the tests consist of:

  1. computerized test on the Moodle platform (listening exercises, written comprehension, grammar, vocabulary)
  2. short written production (about 150 words) on topics related to Erasmus mobility, eg. an informal letter, a letter to the partner university, or an argumentative text on topics of general interest
  3. short interview (about 10 min.) On general topics, eg. talk about themselves, their studies and interests, the mobility experience, or description of images may be requested.

The tests are available for the following languages: English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish. If the test is passed, the Language Centre issues a statement of level where it is specified the content of the test.

It is possible to take the test only once and for the language of the country of destination or that requested by the host university.
